Equipment
Isolated Power Supply
(IPS)
Within 'Group 2' or 'Clinical Category 4 or 5' locations in hospitals, it is required by industry standards that an isolated power supply system is installed in order to achieve the continuity and safety of an electrical supply.
Reliance Health has access to a number of world-class IPS manufacturers, allowing us to source the best operating light solution to fit our client’s specific requirements.
More On Isolated Power Supply
(IPS)
In hospital areas with electrical life support machinery installed, it is paramount that the electrical supply isn't compromised leading to potentially fatal power cuts caused by nuisance trippings in the MCB (miniature circuit board).
The Isolated Power Supply system also helps to prevent electric shock hazards to both clinical staff and patients whilst providing alerts (via an alarm) for system faults.
Equipotential Bonding Bars
(IPS)
Also referred to as EBBs, Earth Strips or Grounding Bars. This equipment is essential to meet BS7671 and HTM06-01 guidelines. EBBs are designed to equalise the potential difference between extraneous conductive parts and protective conductors.
Operating Lights
(OL)
Operating lights are a vital component of any operating theatre and are available in a wide range of configurations and features. Reliance Health has access to a number of world-class operating light manufacturers, allowing us to source the best operating light solution to fit our client’s specific requirements.
Reliance Health has over 12 years of experience in the installation and maintenance of operating light systems within:
- New builds
- Operating room refurbishments
- Operating light replacement projects
- Integrated within UCV canopies
- Low ceiling heights
- Integrated operating rooms
- Treatment rooms
- Mobile operating lights
More On Operating Lights
(OL)
We can integrate operating light systems into Theatre Control Panels (TCP), allowing full control of the system from both the light head and a central interface. Alarms can be set up on the TCP, which will alert clinical staff of any electrical faults within the battery backup system.
All of our operating light systems are LED and include battery backups. LED operating lights provide the brightest level of lux at the lowest possible temperature to provide the safest option of lighting. LED bulbs are also the most economical option, given their energy efficiency and long lifespan.
The battery back-ups installed into the light system provide autonomy for 3 hours should there be a fault with the main electricity source which complies with the requirements set out within the HTM06-01 regulations.
Battery Backups
(OL)
It is a requirement for all operating lights to be connected to a battery backup system with a minimum of 3 hours autonomy. A battery backup system (or BBU) is essential to meet HTM06-01 standards.
Uninterruptible Power Supply
(UPS)
An Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) system is a crucial element of a hospital’s power supply infrastructure when Isolated Power Supply systems (IPS) are installed within the theatre or critical area.
Industry standards such as HTM06-01 requires that in areas where isolated power is installed (Group 2 and Clinical Category 5 areas) there must be an alternative power source able to kick in instantly.
The Uninterruptible Power Supply will provide instant emergency power to critical areas if the mains power supply was to fail until the generator kicks in, ensuring the industry regulations are met.
More On Uninterruptible Power Supply
(UPS)
Reliance Health has access to a number of world-class manufacturers, allowing us to source the best UPS solution to fit our client’s specific requirements.
We are also able to fully integrate your UPS into your Theatre Control Panel (TCP) allowing full control of the system from a central interface. Alarms can be set up on the TCP, which will alert clinical staff of any electrical faults.
Bypass Panels
(UPS)
To give them their full name External Maintenance Bypass Panels or EMBPs make it possible to service and maintain UPS systems whilst continuing an uninterrupted electrical supply.
Theatre Control Panels
(TCP)
A Theatre Control Panel (TCP) provides a central hub where the environment of an operating room can be controlled and monitored from the touch of a finger.
A Theatre Control Panel is typically a wall-mounted, touch screen system that is integrated into the theatres' electrical equipment to control and monitor critical services.
The TCP provides controls and a faults alarm system for:
- Climate control
- IPS
- UPS
- Ventilation systems
- UCV Canopies
- Medical gasses
- AGSS
- Operating lights
- Audio system
Use & Installation
(TCP)
TCPs improve the workflow within a theatre by combining all of the controls of an operating theatre and providing storage for and access to equipment manuals in one easy to use interface.
The Theatre Control Panel is also paramount in monitoring and managing any technical issues within an operating theatre, arming clinical staff with the live status of their critical services to make informed decisions in critical situations.
Each Theatre Control Panel that Reliance Health installs is unique to the hospital and theatre, allowing us to create a bespoke solution to meet our clients' exact specifications.
Picture Archiving & Communication System
(PACS)
Picture archiving and communication systems or PACS are a medical imaging technology. PACS can store, retrieve and share images in different medical settings such as CT scans, MRI scans, X-ray machines and ultrasound machines.
Audio Visual Systems
(AVS)
Audio Visual Systems are utilised more frequently in modern times especially in teaching facilities in hospitals. These systems allow practically instant communication between medical professionals and patients not only in different rooms of the same hospital, but across the world.
